Archives & Special Collections holds the UConn Library’s collection of rare and special books and other publications, the University Archives, and over 1,200 archival collections of primary sources and records of enduring value.

Mission

Our work is guided by the principles that archives reveal by enabling people to examine and better understand the past, that archives inspire by being useful for many purposes, and that archives should be open and accessible to all.

We support and advance the research, teaching, service, and outreach missions of the University by collecting and preserving original source materials; by maintaining the historical records of the University; by fostering public awareness of archival issues; and by engaging students, faculty and the public in scholarly and creative achievement.
