The mission of the UConn Library is to provide every library patron with access to all library services, facilities, and collections.

Babbidge Library parking for those with a State of Connecticut Handicapped Parking Permit is available at the Dodd Research Center’s parking lot on the Library’s south side.
Building Access – Babbidge Library
All three public Library entrances are equipped with automatic doors.
- The north entrance, opposite the CUE Building, is at street level with elevators to the Plaza Level.
- The south entrance, opposite the Dodd Research Center, is reached via a ramp.
- The west entrance, across from the School of Business, is reached via a ramp.

Scanning Services
Students with documented disabilities approved for alternate formats by the Center for Students with Disabilities may request digitization of books in the Homer Babbidge Library, as well as books received through Interlibrary Services.
If you are requesting a scan of a UConn-owned item:
If you wish to receive this service, please contact the Interlibrary Services office at udoc@uconn.edu to sign up. We will confirm via email within three business days that you are registered for this service.
Requesting a Scan of a UConn-Owned Item or an Interlibrary Loan Item:
- Follow the Request Service instructions here
- Choose “Babbidge Library Circ” as your pickup location
- In the “Comment” field, indicate: “PLEASE SCAN THIS MATERIAL INTO OCR FORMAT”
If you are requesting a scan of an Interlibrary Loan item: - Go to the Interlibrary Services FAQ and follow the instructions for “How can I borrow a book, DVD, VHS, CD, music score, or other material not owned by UConn?”
- Choose number 2: Use UConn WorldCat
- Choose “Babbidge Library Circ” as your pickup location
- Follow the note instructions on the FAQ, and indicate: “PLEASE SCAN THIS MATERIAL INTO OCR FORMAT”
Materials will be scanned and made available to you within 5 business days of their arrival in our office. Requests for multiple items may take longer. If you have any questions about your requests or are unable to access them, please contact our office at udoc@uconn.edu. If your software is unable to read the document, you may visit the Center for Students with Disabilities for technical assistance.
Services – All UConn Storrs Campus Libraries
The Libraries on the Storrs Campus provide individual assistance to persons with permanent or temporary disabilities. Services include, but are not limited to:
- Orientation to the Babbidge Library building and other Storrs Campus libraries.
- Retrieval of library materials held at the Music & Dramatic Arts Library, the Babbidge Library, Pharmacy Library, or regional campus libraries is made through. Interlibrary Services.
- Assistance with research projects through our Subject Specialists.
