University Archivist
Betsy Pittman is the University Archivist and Records Management Liaison Officer at the University of Connecticut. In addition to documenting the University’ history, Betsy is also responsible for the political and public affairs, survey research, nursing history and Connecticut history and culture collections in Archives & Special Collections. Prior to her employment at UConn, Betsy was the archivist and Head of Special Collections & Archives on the academic campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. She has also been an instructor of archival management in both institutions. Betsy holds an M.S. (Medieval History) and M.L.S. (specialization in Archives & Manuscripts) from the University of Maryland and a B.A. (European History) from William Smith College.
