Library Research & Assessment

The goal of Library Research & Assessment is to use data to guide decision making and tell compelling stories about the UConn Library and the library-higher education context in which we work. Research & Assessment encompasses a wide range of assessment-related work across all areas of the UConn Library. This includes managing the collection of data the Library submits as a part of annual data cycles for the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), and the federally mandated IPEDS data collection cycle. Research & Assessment provides assessment consultation and outreach-education for the UConn Library community and also leads strategic assessment initiatives. Strategic work has included the creation of materials to support the annual budget process, the implementation of the organizational climate survey ClimateQUAL, and the conducting of several surveys aimed at measuring the impact of the pandemic on library staff experience and services. Coming major assessments include the LibQUAL survey, which will measure user expectations for library service.
