Addesso, Nanette

Nanette received her undergraduate degree at UConn in Human and Family Services with an emphasis in Sociology and Women’s Studies. She previously held positions in social services and the public-school system before her employment began at UConn in 2005. She has worked in various departments such as the Center for Academic Programs, Chemistry and the Library (since 2008). Customer service is her forte and she genuinely enjoys helping staff, students and the general public with information and referrals.

Bayonne, Phara

Phara Bayonne is the immediate past President of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association-Connecticut Affiliate (BCALA-CT) and is currently the library director at the Jeremy Richard library, UConn Stamford Campus. She holds a Master of Library Science (M.L.S.) from Pittsburgh University as well as a B.A. in English from Boston University. Before coming to the UConn Libraries, Phara worked as a reference librarian for the Ferguson Library, Stamford’s Public Library for several years.

Bennett, Michael J.

As Head of Digital Imaging and Conservation, Michael J. Bennett also manages the University of Connecticut Library’s Digital Still Imaging Lab where archival, special collection, and museum objects are captured. Working at the intersection of digital imaging, digital preservation, and conservation, his research interests include technologies that focus on digital capture, post-processing, and 2D and 3D data formats.

Bustamante, Stephen

Steve Bustamante has vast experience in circulation/reserves, and interlibrary services. He has over 2 decades of UConn library experience starting at Storrs, and moving on to UConn Hartford, and then UConn Waterbury campus where he currently works. This has given Steve a unique perspective on UConn operations across campuses. He has also served as liaison to academic and staff support departments. He is now offering video/video editing support through UConn Waterbury.

Colati, Gregory

Greg Colati is the Director of the Digital Preservation Repository Program, as well as the head of the Connecticut Digital Archive, a statewide preservation-oriented digital repository service for libraries, archives, museums, and memory institutions. Mr. Colati has more than 20 years of experience in archives and cultural heritage institutions. He is currently an adjunct Professor UConn’s department of Digital Media and Design and has taught courses in archives management/digital repositories at Simmons University GSLIS, the University of Denver and for the Society of American Archivists. Greg’s current research focuses on connecting digital libraries and cultural heritage education, machine learning and handwriting recognition in historical repositories, and preserving non-traditional forms of scholarly expression.

Eshelman, Kristin

Kristin Eshelman is the archivist for multimedia collections at Archives & Special Collections. She is responsible for managing collections of special archival materials including photography, film, sound recordings, and artists’ books. In 2015, she became archivist for the Northeast Children’s Literature Collection as well. Kristin has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington College and a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Arizona. Postgraduate education in photography led her to a career in photo archives. From 1992 to 1995, she trained at the Center for Creative Photography, University of Arizona. She served as Photo Archivist for the Kansas Collection and University Archives at the Kenneth Spencer Research Library, University of Kansas from 1996 to 2001.
