The open online application period for research carrels at the Homer Babbidge Library closed on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 5:00pm.
Our research carrels are currently closed to our patrons. Please click the link above to our COVID-19 page for the most current information about research carrels and our other spaces. Please note that assignments are approved on a first come, first served basis, with preference given to carrel applicants applying for a shared carrel. To ensure consideration, all applications must be complete, including department approvals.

Research Carrels Policy and Guidelines
Research carrels are assigned to eligible applicants who are working on research projects requiring extensive use of library materials. Research carrels are not intended for use by occupants as study, storage or office space. Only individuals actively affiliated with the University of Connecticut are considered to be eligible. Per Diem Research Carrels
Please note that the iDesk, located on the Library’s Plaza Level, offers daily research carrels for undergraduate students. These carrels are available for four hour increments on a first come, first served basis.
