The father of HMS librarian Walter R. Steiner was a physician and professor of chemistry and pharmacy in 19th century Maryland. He was also the chief inspector of the U.S. Sanitary Commission with the Army of the Potomac during the Civil War. This collection represents 39 pamphlets written by Dr. Lewis Steiner.
