Dear Library Users,
The main library at Storrs must cut 30% (or $2.2 million) from their collections budget for FY21. Their cancellation decisions impact the Health Sciences Library directly, due to many cost-sharing resources. More details are available here: https://lib.uconn.edu/research/collections/future-of-journals/
The Health Sciences Library has a limited amount of funds to reinstate some individual titles on our own, after any given packages are cancelled. To ensure your information needs are best served, we will reinstate, within our budget, the most essential titles that our academic community needs for immediate online access. For those that cannot be reinstated, back files for most journals from 1997-2020 are still available. All cancelled journal contents will be still made available to you through our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services. Article requests made through ILL usually take 1-2 business days. Because of shipping time, books may take a week or more. If a requested article or book is difficult to locate or held by very few libraries, it may take longer to obtain the requested item. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions about requested items.
If you have any questions, please contact Interim Library Director, Hongjie Wang, MLS, MA (email@example.com).
