Research & Instruction Librarian
Her academic background includes a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Fine Arts from Santa Clara University; graduate studies in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from the University of San Diego. She also holds a M.L.S. from Southern Connecticut State University. She has over 31 years of experience in academic libraries including having been the sole proprietor of a library insourcing business, Rumery Contemporary Cataloging. Currently she is the Research and Instruction Librarian at the Avery Point Campus Library and has been enjoying the campus view since 2005. Her approach to teaching information literacy is to share examples that are relevant to students’ needs with a lean toward humor whenever possible. Beyond instruction, her role includes liaison collaborative work with faculty. She is actively involved in several campus committees, mentoring, and is the advisor to the Alliance-GSA organization. Outside of UConn, she is the Vice Chair of the Library Commission for the Town of Ledyard, CT.
