The Full Text Jounal Locator can be used to determine if a title is available through one or more of the Libraries' electronic resources, and to connect to the database or journal directly.
  • Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan Service Available only to members of the UConn community.
  • Video Theater Online Booking Faculty may use this web-interactive forms to book a Video Theather Room.
  • Request for Purchase Form

Research Database Locator
The University of Connecticut subscribes to over 240 Web-Based, commercially-produced research and citation databases. Most of these resources are limited to the University of Connecticut community.

Databases for Latin American & Caribbean Studies:

  • Newspapers Databases and Online Reference Materials
  • Journal articles Databases
    • Hispanic American Periodicals Index (HAPI) Indexes over 500 journals covering political, economic, and social issues, 1970+
    • JSTOR Essential scholarly journals in many academic fields, especially arts, literature, humanities, and biology. Some back to early 1900s; most recent 2-5 years not available. Most Latin American and Caribbean Studies journals are found here.

  • LexisNexis Academic A full text business, news, legal, people biographies, public opinion surveys and statistical information databases. Academic Universe is available only to UConn faculty and students.
  • Alternative Press Index Citations are drawn from roughly 380 alternative, radical, and left publications, which report and analyze the practices and theories of cultural, economic, political, and social change, 1991+
  • Dissertation Abstracts Covers every doctoral dissertation completed in the U.S. at accredited institutions for the last 150 years. Includes some master's theses and foreign language dissertations, 1861+>
  • Factiva Provides company, industry, and market data. Also, full text access to newspapers, general interest magazines and academic journals.
  • InfoTrac OneFile
    An abstracting and full text service which provides indexing to 1550 general interest journals.
  • Ingenta
  • A citation database for 17,000 multidisciplinary journals. The Reveal feature provides a user with the ability to set up a search profile and receive the citation results every week on email. Available to University of Connecticut faculty, staff and students.
  • CQ Researcher
  • In-depth, unbiased coverage of health, social trends, criminal justice, international affairs, education, the environment, technology, and the economy. From the Congressional Quarterly. 1991 to present. Some of the reports include Latin America and Hispanics/Latinos in the U.S.
  • Web of Science Author, keyword and citations searching in Science Citation Index Expanded, Arts & Humanities Citation Index, and Social Science Citation Index, 1994-
  • Wilson Web (formerly JRef) Comprised of four databases covering many fields of science, social science, and the humanities.
  • WorldCat Over 30 million bibliographic records for material cataloged by libraries worldwide.
  • Available only to members of the UConn community.

  • EconLit through EbscoHOST Covers the international literature on economics since 1969 and provides bibliographic citations, with selected abstracts, of journal articles, books, dissertations and working papers, as well as articles in collective works.
  • Globus & NTDB Current and historical trade-related releases, international market research and country analysis.
  • Stat-USA Current U.S. and international business, economic and trade statistics from the Department of Commerce.

Education:
