Welcome to the Jeremy Richard Library

Dr.Jeremy Richard

The Stamford campus library of the University of Connecticut was named in 1991 for Dr. Jeremy Richard, an esteemed and popular professor of English here from 1980 to 1990, who died at the age of 40. He was a widely published Shakespeare specialist who frequently lectured at libraries around the state.

The Jeremy Richard Library at UConn Stamford is dedicated to serving the research needs of the students and faculty of the University of Connecticut. We serve as the focal point for the Stamford Campus. Our computer workstations are networked to the main campus and provide access to nearly 250 online, e-books and thousands of full-text reference sources and journal articles. The library’s catalog, HOMER, is integrated with that of the main campus library and other regional campus libraries; and document delivery services provide easy access to the the resources of all UConn libraries.

The library has a dedicated study area on the first floor to the memory of Dr. Estelle F. Feinstein, renowned Stamford historian and history professor at UConn from 1957-1989. Our library also houses the Writing Center, a historic WPA Mural entitled "School Activities" and several group study rooms, in addition to individual study carrels and comfortable seating throughout.
