"Seeking Simplicity" is an exhibit of paintings, drawings and photgraphs by South Windsor artist Lucy Sander Sceery. The works in this exhibit reflect her interest in the buildings, especially tobacco sheds, found throughout the Connecticut River valley. "I view the sheds and buildings, in this body of work, as geometric abstractions. These solid forms, and their relationship to the land, provide me with a peacefulness while at the same time offering visual excitement." Originally from Staten Island, New York, Ms. Sceery has resided in Connecticut since 1961. She studied at the New York Art Students' League and at Manchester Community College, earning an Associate's degree in art.
