After making abstract and conceptual pieces for 22 years,
Tom Hébert refocused his work in 1996, when he began
a continuing series of paintings of pool players. A number
of these paintings and prints are on continuous exhibit at
the Amsterdam Billiards Club East (210 East 86th Street)
and the Amsterdam Billiards Club West (344 Amsterdam
Avenue) in New York City.
Hébert earned his BFA at the University of Connecticut School of Fine Arts and his MS in Art Education from Central Connecticut State University. He has had numerous one-man shows in New England and at the O. K. Harris galleries in New York City and Scottsdale, Arizona; his work has been included in many group exhibitions in the United States and Germany. Among his awards are an Individual Artist Grant in Painting from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and Artist in Residence at Gesamthochschule Universitat in Kassel, Germany. His work is included in a number of private collections and including those of Mobil Oil Corporation, Aetna Insurance, and the Joel Meisner Foundry. He lives and works in Willimantic, CT.
